Travel Like Bond

Exotic locales are as much a part of the James Bond movie franchise as beautiful women, fast cars and ingenious spy gadgets. The latest installment, “Quantum of Solace,” with actor Daniel Craig taking his second turn as 007, finds the suave spy bouncing from MI6 headquarters in London to his latest mission in Austria, Italy and South America. Here, the always dashing Bond literally does just that across the ancient tile rooftops of the Piazza del Campo in Siena, Italy, in a chase scene from “Quantum of Solace.” If you visit, you’ll want a ground-level view of one of Europe’s most famous and largest medieval squares, which hosts the twice-yearly Palio horse race and remains the cultural heart of this Tuscan city. Its architectural treasures include the 13th-century Palazzo Pubblico and 14th-century Torre de Mangia.
