Going To An IMAX Theater

Written by my friend Markus Sanford

One of the neatest experiences I've had with going to a theater is when I went to the St. Louis Science Center to see a movie at the IMAX theater. The first thing you notice when going into one of these theaters is the shape of the screen. It's a bit rounded, and I'm told it enhances the field of vision to help the viewer feel as if they are really inside the movie. The stadium seating also plays a part in how you see the screen. As if that weren't enough, when the actual movie begins to play it feels as if you have been sucked inside of the show itself. Crystal clear clarity on the screen together with high definition surround sound makes for a once in a lifetime experience. We saw the IMAX movie "Hubble 3D." It was a really endearing look into the lives of astronauts who set out to repair the Hubble telescope. The movie was narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio which I really enjoyed since he has an amazing voice. The 3D effects were really top notch and I was totally immersed in the film. I didn't realize that when I set my home security alarm (more info) and headed to the Science Center that day that I'd be on my way to one of the best theater experiences of my life.
